Hardford Duracool.

The name, "Harford," denotes the county in Maryland where our manufacturing facility is located. The walk-in line acquired this name when Harford Metal Products purchased it from the Schaefer Cabinet Company in 1968. Harford Metal Products made no effort to expand a "niche" market in their immediate trading area.

Hazleton Systems acquired Harford in 1976 and, in 1981, installed new fixturing and introduced the re-designed product line nationally. After a subsequent ownership, Harford became a privately held, stand-alone panel manufacturer. A new management team invigorated sales emphasis in the foodservice industry. Steady growth resulted from a continued sales policy stressing rapid response to customer pricing and service inquiries. A quality product - delivered on time - with the enthusiastic support of management, manufacturing, engineering and sales teamwork expanded Harford's "niche" dramatically.

Harford's market penetration and national acceptance attracted the interest of Manitowoc's cooler panel division. Successful negotiations culminated in Harford becoming a member of Manitowoc's business enterprise, a sister company to Kolpak.

Today through expanded assets in state of the art panel foaming equipment and dedication to customer satisfaction, Harford remains a leading manufacturer of custom walk-in coolers / freezers and modular buildings.
